This white cheese coating is ideal for protecting your cheese making projects while letting them breathe during the aging process.

Product Description

A great way to protect your cheese yet still allow it to "breath". This white cheese coating comprises food-grade aqueous wax emulsion and glycols with additional bactericidal agents to discourage unwanted mould growth.

Simply paint the coating over the top and sides of the cheese, allow to dry and then paint the base. Additional layers can then be applied to achieve the desired thickness.

The coating dries to a film that will ensure your cheese is protected from insects as well as bacteria, (especially from the cheesemakers hands!)

Since the white coating dries to a crystal clear totally transparent film, it is ideal for covering 'coated' cheeses to keep the outer material firmly bonded to the surface. This means that you can now produce those special cheeses you have seen that are coated with sage or vine leaves or peppercorns or nettles or...

Another use for this cheese coating is for the prevention of 'bleed' from cheese wax: simply paint a thin layer of coating over the cheese and allow to dry prior to waxing. The coating will stop the pigments in the wax penetrating the cheese and discoloring a significant outer layer of the cheese, so will eliminate a considerable amount of wastage and improve the overall appearance.

Available in 1kg packs. Other colours available include Yellow (for use in Gouda etc.) as well as Red, Green and Black coatings for continental and specialty cheeses.
